You probably already noticed that Apple rolled out their latest operating system last week, iOS 8, which packs a whole host of new apps and features to take advantage of. But you might have also noticed that the update got rid of a longtime feature of every iPhone and iPad - the Camera Roll.

Now, iOS divides your pictures into different folders instead of just the one Camera Roll. This has raised some confusion and questions about where photos go now. For instance, when you delete a picture off of your device, is it really gone? How do you permanently delete a photograph now?

It is a very simple process - all you need to do is go into the folder marked Recently Deleted and empty it out. It's basically the iPhone equivalent of your computer's trash can.
