News has recently leaked from Lenovo, about the next generation of ThinkPad 2-in-1 devices. The new batch of ultraportables planned for this year, are expected to feature some pretty amazing options that could make them very attractive to those considering an alternative to the more expensive Surface Book, as well as other high-end laptops.

If the rumor from Digitimes’ undisclosed sources is anywhere near accurate, Microsoft could be seriously considering tapping into a market currently dominated by an Apple-Lenovo duopoly.

Not everyone is in the market for over-the-top, high-performance, ultra-high resolution laptop, especially when budget, nor need, justifies dropping a couple of grand on a high-end machine with all the bells and whistles. Early this week, Lenovo has announced its brand new Yoga 900 2-in-1 convertible laptop. The new devices features REACHit technology, an enhancement to Cortana which was announced in May this year, enabling users to use voice commands to search files across multiple cloud services, besides OneDrive, including Google Drive, DropBox, Exchange, Gmail and Baidu, to name a few.
