With any new or in-development Apple product, there have been rumors swirling for months regarding when the iWatch - Apple's new wearable device - would be released, as well as what it would look like. As recently as a few weeks ago, there was speculation in the industry that Apple would have to delay the iWatch into 2015 due to production issues, but a new report out this week claims the exact opposite.
On Wednesday, August 27, the tech industry website re/Code reported that the iWatch is going to be unveiled on September 9. This falls in line with an announcement that Apple itself made about having a major public event in the first week of September. While nobody outside of the development process knows what the iWatch is going to look like - or what features it will include - all of these questions will be answered at the event.
According to Forbes, Apple's release of the iWatch in September is going to set sales of wearable technology skyrocketing in 2015, with Morgan Stanley estimating that as many as 60 million iWatch units will be sold within its first year on the market. This is due in large part, Morgan Stanley argues, to the device's emphasis on health, with different apps and features dedicated to physical fitness. This speculation is based on months of Apple hiring health professionals.
