While the fourth round of beta testing for iOS 8 has been getting a lot of attention after being released earlier this week, Apple announced on Wednesday, July 23, that it would begin letting people test the new operating system for the Macbook Pro and its other computers. The first public beta test for the OS X 10.10 software update, known as Yosemite, will be available for people to download and test on July 24.
Once the new software testing program launches on Thursday, users will be able to go to the official website in order to download and install it onto their personal Apple computers. They will then be able to provide feedback on the new and altered features that they like or dislike directly to the tech giant. This is Apple's first step in fine tuning their latest software programs.
In order to download OS X Yosemite, customers will simply need to sign into the Mac App Store using their personalized Apple ID and use a provided redemption code in order to gain access to the new beta program. There will be a built-in feedback assistant program that will allow people to report any issues or complaints directly to Apple while they are using it.
The program is going to be available for free for those who own laptops that are already running on the Mac OS X Mavericks system. The company does recommend, however, using it on a secondary Macbook Air or other product, as the new OS is in the testing stage and could contain possible bugs or features that need to be addressed and repaired.
