As Apple CEO Tim Cook has mentioned recently, the company is going to make Apple TV one of its top priorities in the immediate future. Unlike the Macbook Pro or iPhone, Apple TV has never really captured the public's attention and imagination. But while it has never been a big seller for the tech company, Apple hopes to turn this around by making some upgrades to the existing technology. Although its new CarPlay system has been dominating much of the media attention lately, Apple TV is poised to come back in a major way.
According to a new report from AppleInsider, there are a few details that have been leaked on what the Apple TV improvements might look like. The report says that Apple's current job listings include available positions for the camera software team, specifically mentioning work n the company's television division. The Apple TV, as it currently exists, is the only Apple product that does not have a camera built right into it. This new information points to this changing soon as the company hires somebody to develop a camera for the television.
The job listing asks that only people who have experience working with motion capture cameras apply for the job. According to the AppleInsider report, it is entirely possible that the company is going to work on integrating motion controls into the television, allowing people to use their bodies to control the device. While Apple has made no public comment regarding the job listings or possibility of a camera being added to the television, AppleInsider believes we will see this addition when the new Apple TV is finally released.
