In June, Apple unveiled new MacBook Air laptops that included Intel's latest Haswell processor cores, which are particularly notable for the fact that they feature high end graphics capabilities built directly into the chip, rather than separately as has traditionally been the case with computer processors. Many industry observers had thought that Apple would have released MacBook Pros with Haswell cores as well, but to date that hasn't happened.
However, SemiAccurate, a technology news site, reports that Apple may be receiving a special "cream of the crop" Haswell processor for its next line of MacBook Pros, which will be unavailable to the other manufacturers that use Intel CPUs.
The source was able to obtain results from a benchmark test that showed specifications for a next-generation MacBook that has not yet been released. The specs indicate that the computer included an Intel Core i7–4950HQ chip with Iris Pro 5200 integrated graphics, a feature not currently available on Apple's MacBook lineup.
It's important to note that rumors about future Apple products are unconfirmed by the company, which is notoriously secretive about what it will be releasing next. But given that the upgrade to Haswell cores has already been done for MacBook Airs, it stands to reason the same change would be made to Apple's performance laptops as well as its iMac line.
Right now, you can get a fantastic custom MacBook Air laptop from PortableOne featuring Haswell cores, which provide improved speed, graphics performance and battery life over previous generations, providing you with the ideal mobile computing experience.
