On Monday, March 10, Apple officially unveiled the latest version of its operating system: iOS 7.1. Although the company has already announced the upgrades that the new version will bring, it will not be available for customers to download until later in the week. What the company has said, however, was that the new system has addressed the issues many customers have complained about experiencing recently.
Among the improvements to the new operating system are a more refined user interface, improved speed on the iPhone 4, additional options for photography and gender choice for the voice of Siri. As Apple already announced last week, they will begin integrating their new CarPlay system into certain models, while customers now have the option to download CarPlay onto their smartphones.
The iOS 7.1 is the first update to Apple's operating system in six months, since the iOS 7 was released to the public last September. The new software has undergone a design overhaul, with the typography and color scheme being changed. One of the biggest improvements made to the phone is the control center that gives users quick access to their favorite apps and features.
According to Apple, 83 percent of its customers have downloaded iOS 7 since its original introduction. In the time of its existence, the company has released five beta versions of iOS 7 to developers, but is now ready to release the final version to the public. The newest system will not be available on the original iPad from 2010 or smartphones older than the iPhone 4.
