If you recently updated your iPhone with Apple's latest operating system - iOS 8 - you have likely already noticed the small and big tweaks made to your phone's interface. While there are a myriad of great new apps and features included with the new OS, there was one feature that the tech giant changed that users weren't happy about at all - the new way it now stores photographs.
The iPhone used to save pictures taken to the Camera Roll. With the rollout of iOS 8, the Camera Roll was replaced with the "Recently Added" folder. While this was a relatively small change on Apple's, consumers everywhere were none too pleased with the development.
The Recently Added folder alters a few basic steps of saving and deleting pictures from the device. It contains deleted photos that were saved to the iCloud, making it very difficult to know which pictures were being stored on the phone and which weren't. It also makes deleting pictures harder, transferring them to a folder called "Recently Deleted" instead of actually taking them off the phone itself.
This move was met with a lot of resistance from the public, who took to social media to voice their displeasure with the new change. As third-party app designers began to design features that were similar to the Camera Roll, Apple decided to walk back on the decision. The company recently announced that the Camera Roll would be fully restored when the iOS 8.1 update is released.
