Earlier this week, following a few months of beta testing, Apple released the newest operating system (OS) for its laptops to the general public. OS X 10.9.3 is the third major system upgrade that the company has released for its computers and comes with the Apple's usual security improvements, bug fixes and new features. One of the most noticeable differences in the update was the improved support for high-resolution large displays. The Macbook Pro and Macbook Air will now be able to better handle the smooth and crisp look through the retina display.
Here are a few of the notable improvements with the OS enhancement:
- Calendar sync: Now users will be able to better track their appointments and events by syncing their calendars between their smartphone and tablet or computer. You can transfer all of your important times and dates using a USB connection, so you do not have to worry about losing information when going from one electronic device to the next.
- Display: As we stated above, the new OS comes with a greatly enhanced retina display. The external display supports a 4K resolution, which will better be able to show higher-resolution images as you surf the web or watch a movie. This is an expansion of the retina brand for Apple, who has already brought the display technology to the iPhone and iPad.
- Upgraded iTunes: While users have reported experiencing problems with the music service in the recent past, Apple has gone a long way to fix some of these major issues. The new version of iTunes comes with fixes to certain bugs, as well as a security repair and new podcast feature.
