The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a mixed bag for Apple. While sales of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus set new records, reports soon followed that, in certain circumstances, the latter was prone to bending. The iOS 8 software update was almost immediately downloaded by millions of Apple users across the globe, but it was then struck with its own performance issues.
iPhone users claim having to deal with a number of disabled functions on their devices, attributed to the newly updated iOS 8.0.1. There have been widespread reports of consumers not having any cellular signal, as well as losing access to the Touch ID. The new iOS update was originally supposed to fix any bugs that may have sprung up during iOS 8's initial rollout last week, but in some cases, the 8.0.1 patch just seems to compound these problems.
While these are issues that have been plaguing many iPhone users, Apple said in a statement that it is working on a "major fix" for these problems and plans to make it available within the next few days. Until iOS 8.0.2 is ready, Apple is urging those with impacted iPhones to go to iTunes and reinstall iOS 8 onto their devices. This workaround offered by the company will be just a temporary solution to those who are experiencing any of these bugs.
