While Apple has not made any public remarks about the in-development iWatch, the Washington Post recently reported several features that people should expect to come with the new device. Speaking with company insiders - as well as looking at different reports that have come out over the last few months - the Washington Post has been able to put together a list that will accurately describe what people will likely see when the new product is officially launched in the fall. As the article notes, this is the first major product line of Apple's since the release of the iPad back in 2010.
Here are a few features that we should expect when the iWatch is put on the market:
- Health functions: Apple has put a lot of emphasis on health in recent months, a trend that will continue with the iWatch. The Washington Post reports that there will be a variety of health and fitness apps and functions included in the new device, such as a weightlifting sensor and a feature that will monitor a user's pulse.
- Slap bracelet: The iWatch is going to be somewhat flexible and not rigid and uncomfortable for users to wear. The device itself will function as a slap bracelet, with the gadget coming in a wrap-around display.
- Two sizes: According to various sources - including Reuters, Apple Insider and MacRumor - the iWatch will be available in two sizes for people to choose from. The reports indicate that customers will be able to choose between either a 1.3 inch or 1.5 inch-sized screen.
