Anybody who owns a laptop or smartphone will will likely cite battery life as one of the most frustrating aspects of their devices. While they can often seem to lose juice more quickly than we would like, the truth is that Apple makes fantastic power cords that can restore battery life just as fast. These chargers work well, but there are occasional moments where the battery not be able to attain the charge. Before running off to the Genius Bar for help, there are ways you can deal with the problem on your own.
Here are a few tips for dealing with a Macbook Pro that won't charge:
- Check the wire: The problem might not be with your computer's battery, but instead with the power cord itself. Try running your hands down the entire charger to check for any possible kinks or breaks that could be preventing the charge from reaching your laptop. A broken charger can easily be replaced.
- Let the computer cool down: Oftentimes, a battery that will not charge can be caused by a laptop that has become overheated with too much use. Instead of trying to force the computer to work, try leaving it alone for a little while so the internal system can cool off.
- Make sure you are plugged in: While this might seem like an obvious suggestion, everybody has those moments where the other end of their charger is not connected to the wall outlet. Also be sure to check the port where the wire connects to see if there is any obstructing debris. If you are plugged into the outlet, try a different one to make sure that it's not the issue.
