Worried about dropping your Apple Pencil? This British kickstarter has a solution.
With the imminent release of the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, big manufacturers of accessories like Logitech, aren’t wasting any time, as they get ready to offer their own solutions to enhance Apple’s newest, and biggest tablet yet.
Across the Pond, Manchester, UK native, and owner of SteelConnect, Jason Lim has been working on his own clever solution to the problem of keeping the Apple Pencil from rolling off to oblivion.
Quarter is a simple, little accessory that plugs into the iPad Pro’s charging port, and allows to dock Apple Pencil into the dock, without blocking the way of the iPad Pro’s own charging cable. The great thing about Quarter is that it can be positioned in different ways, depending on the situation. For instance, when carrying the iPad Pro, Apple Pencil will be able to dock parallel to the edge of the tablet.
When using the iPad Pro on a surface, for instance when using it to draw, sketch, paint or write, the Pencil will dock vertically, perpendicular to the iPad Pro, ready to be picked up, preventing it from rolling around, or off the table, when not in use.
Further information gathered from the kickstarter page indicate that the accessory will be able to dock even when the iPad Pro is connected to a Smart Cover, may that be folded or in keyboard mode.
According to Lim’s kickstarter page, Quarter is made of hazard-free silicone materials, and it will be ready to ship by January, with production starting in December, so long as the $4,632 goal is met within the next 29 days.
