Windows 10 Build 10586 is coming, as the rumored Threshold 2 update

According to the Internet’s favorite Windows 10 whistleblower, WinBeta, Microsoft’s first major system update, codenamed “Threshold 2”, is due to arrive to a Windows 10 PC near you, as Build 10586, within this month.

While most users won’t notice the difference, the size of the update will be major, with several improvements concerning security and communication, with some changes in UI elements.

New apps will be introduced, with a focus on messaging, and Skype integration, as well as Microsoft Edge improvements, potentially bringing extensions to the browser.

As usual, Windows insiders will get first dibs on the new build, as it happened in the two weeks prior to the official release of Microsoft Windows 10 last July.

According to WinBeta, consumers should expect a “Fall Update”, as the official definition for Threshold 2, towards the end of this month.

On a separate note, the update will also be for mobile devices, like Windows Phones and Dell Vue tablets. Speaking of which, it's likely that the major update will also fix the problem with critical errors occurring when updating smaller tablets with a bigger virtual resolution than the native resolution, as it was reported by a number of insiders since the latest preview build.

Many other bugs found in the latest preview build will also disappear after upgrading Windows 10 to Threshold 2, with substantial improvements in both desktop and mobile experiences.
