Will Apple return to the stage October 16?
According to the technology blog site Re/Code, Apple is getting ready to host a new event, initially slated for October 21st, then moved up to October 16.
While Re/Code’s unnamed sources “familiar with the company’s plans”, seem far-fetched at best, especially when the company itself refuses to confirm or comment, there may be a shred of validity to these rumors, at the very least, in light of the absence of Mac and iPad announcements, during the very smartphone-centric September 9th event.
Aside from rumors and marketing projections pointing to a probable release of an iPad Air 2, iPad Mini and perhaps even an iPad Pro, Apple has been surprisingly quiet about its next move.
In the realm of desktops and laptops, there has been rumors surrounding a new version of the Macbook Air, which is said to include the ground-breaking USB Type-C connector, a next-generation USB port capable of carrying video signal, connecting, as well as powering peripherals in both directions.
Word of a refreshed Apple Mac Mini has joined the chorus, as the only confirmed announcement, of anything, comes from Apple’s new hire Marc Newson, whose world-renowned design talents have recently conceived what seems to be an Apple Mac Pro inspired beer dispenser.
If Re/Code’s rumor is anywhere near accurate, we may very well be only a couple of weeks away from some very interesting announcements, while perhaps unyielding of official releases of any new Macbook or iPad, we can at least hope for a more accurate ETA of Apple’s next best thing, with any luck, before the end of this year.
