Finally an iPad stand that fits in your kitchen
The Moe Bull Stand for the Apple iPad may not be exactly on the cheap side, but the simplicity of its design will make you think twice before putting it down as yet another overpriced hunk of wood.
For one thing, this stand is probably one of the few capable of making any iPad look like it actually belongs in a kitchen. Built in “solid wood with no moving parts” is about as inconspicuous as a bread bin. Without an iPad inserted in one of the four differently angled slots, this accessory could be mistaken for a small cutting board, especially one that is sized for a 9.7 inch iPad Pro. By this token, should you ever notice diced tomatoes and onion slices where your iPad should be, you can safely wash this stand in the sink or in the dishwasher.
The Moe Bull comes in two types of wood: Walnut and Maple. The finish used in the construction of this accessory is kitchen-grade edible mineral oil and beeswax, typical of most cutting board and salad bowls.
The stand is compatible with most iPad sizes, including the iPad Pro 9.7 inches (and iPad Air 2), the original iPad Air, the iPad 2 and 3, as well as the 4th gen iPad, the iPad Mini 4, as well as all previous iPad Mini models. There is no information yet on a 12.9 inch iPad Pro compatible version.
The iPad Pro 9.7 inches/iPad Air 2/iPad Air versions are the most expensive, priced at $79.95, followed by the iPad 2, and iPad 3rd and 4th generation versions, which will set you back $79. The iPad Mini 4 version costs $69, and the same goes for the iPad Mini 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation compatible stands.
The grooves where the iPad is supposed to slide into are designed to be snug for a more solid grip on the tablet. The downside of this design is that it won’t accommodate a case, or even a protective screen, which requires a bit of care when using it in the kitchen, or anywhere spills and sputter may occur.
The lack of a 12.9 inch option for the iPad Pro is rather glaring, considering the price point of this accessory, but the chances of a version compatible with the premium-sized iPad Pro are very likely.
