Apple iPhone 6 manufacturers gear up for tallest order yet
Apple is committed to meet demand of its iPhone 6, no matter the cost, with the biggest order to its manufacturers. As much as 80 million units are expected to hit stores worldwide, from brick and mortar, to online retailers.
It’s very likely that there won’t be much weekend-long sidewalk camping outside retail stores, this year, as Apple partner Foxconn is ramping up their human resources, with an additional 100 thousand new employees, while Pegatron is expected to hire as much as 10 thousand more employees, to assemble the iPhone 6.
Demand is expected to be extremely high, according to the most recent and accurate marketing data, which explains the huge order volume requested from manufacturers, and predicts a 15-20% jump in sales, within a year.
Last year’s iPhone 5s supply hit critical mass very quickly, with such massive order volume that Tim Cook had to issue a statement, admitting he did not expect the kind of response the iPhone 5s ultimately received by consumers.
With two versions of the iPhone 6, featuring larger displays and a host of next-generation features highly anticipated post-WWDC, Apple is taking no chances with supply issues.
The larger screen, has the potential to attract current Android users as well, who might be interested in switching to a completely different iOS experience, in the future.
Apple has also issued requests to manufacturers, to prepare replacement parts for up to 120 million iPhone 6 devices, in preparation for high rates of device failure, which might be a potential issue with larger Sapphire displays.
