Word has it that Apple is planning to finally end the MacBook Air, by Fall 2018, which means that something completely new, but just as affordable, might be in the works, and ready to ship before Christmas.

Apple and Microsoft may have diversified over decades of learning about new emerging markets and pushing the boundaries of consumer tech, but one thing that both companies will never stop fighting for, with incessant, and relentless passion, is winning over power users.

Come 2018, one would think that the old diatribe between Mac and PC users should be a thing of the past, but it’s anything but, and sadly, due to a very important reason.

According to the drawings included in the patent, what Apple means by “non-electronic surfaces”, is that Apple Pencil may evolve not only beyond being bound to the iPad Pro, it may very well become so ubiquitous a device, that it could be used anywhere, with anything, quite literally.
