6 reasons why Mac OSX Yosemite is every bit as awesome as it looks

Saying that Apple is a production powerhouse, would be a gross understatement.

Between the iPhone, the iWatch, and a whole new Mac Pro coming this fall, Apple has been relentless in its release of new products.

OSX Yosemite is one of the most anticipated software releases this year, for at the very least 6 great reasons:

1. OSX Yosemite is free!

One of the most beautiful and feature-packed desktop operating systems, is coming to you free of charge, this fall, with a developer version available now, free registration is required.

2. Eye-candy

There is no dancing around it: Apple has put a lot of work in giving Yosemite a beautiful interface, that gives way to flat, clean and simple design, ever so close to bridging the gap between desktop and mobile.

An interesting touch is the “frosted glass” translucence effect featured on a number of dialog boxes and application windows.

A similar effect has been implemented by Microsoft since Windows Vista, which, at the time could not count on hardware able to support such resource-hungry feature. As always, there is a good reason why Apple likes to keep us waiting, and now we can enjoy a flawless, beautiful user experience.

3. All your iDevices, now available at your fingertips

How cool would it be to leave your phone charging in another room, and as it rings, to be able to pick up an incoming call on your Mac? Yosemite gives you that ability and more.

Editing documents across multiple iDevices with “Handsoff”, lets you switch seamlessly from one device to the next, and it’s one of the features predicted to be booming, not only among home users, but in the workplace as well.

4. Instant HotSpot

No Wi-Fi? No problem! A new feature called “Instant HotSpot” lets you tether your Mac to your iPhone instantly, without having to type a password!

5. AirDrop

File sharing is easy and seamless, with AirDrop, a feature that lets you select files and folders on your Mac and send it to any iOS or Mac device near you, in seconds.

6. Bigger, better Mail!

Mail has been revamped big time, with a cool Markup feature that allows to write or doodle directly on pictures or sign PDF files, using a stylus or touch pad.

File attachments can be as big as 5GB for Mail users, who will be able to receive the bulky payload seamlessly. Non-Mail users will still be able to receive the attachments through a download link.
