Detachable laptops have been “a thing”, ever since Microsoft unveiled the Surface Book, in the Fall of 2015, to pitch against Apple’s Macbook Pro line of laptops.

According to Bloomberg’s top marketing analyst and Apple watchdog, Mark Gurman, Apple’s project Kalamata (a reference to the first city liberated during the Greek war of independence), has been officially approved, and is set to move the company forward with plans of eliminating third party CPUs across all Mac product lines, by at least 2020.

While this may be a long shot from a multicoloured Mac OS, a dark mode is an option that Mac users have been pining over, as well as iOS users, who have been hoping for a dark mode on iPhone and iPad, at the very least.

Among the many standards introduced over decades, FIDO 2.0 is one that may very well get us as close as possible to gaining some peace of mind in regard to device security. With that said, what is FIDO anyways?
